Places to Visit

Acadia National Park (Mt Desert Island): 1 Hour
The northeast’s only national park. It is truly scenic and beautiful. You can drive up Cadillac Mt for free, but you need a park pass to drive though most of it.

Bar Harbor (Mt Desert Island): 1 Hour
A lovely New England tourist stop. Gift stores galore. Lots of restaurants. It is only about 15 miles from Ellsworth, but thetraffic can slow you down depending on the time of day.

Diver Ed (Bar Harbor): 1 Hour
A GREAT family adventure. We have sent many friends and everyone has all loved it. We have been 3 times. Don’t worry about getting sea sick. The boat does not go far and is anchored in a calm area. Make reservations as it is usually booked in advance.

On the Way to Bar Harbor (between Ellsworth & Bar Harbor)
Miniature Golf, Water Slides, gift stores, restaurants, etc.

Schoodic Point (Winter Harbor): 30 Minutes
Schoodic Point is part of Acadia National Park and does not require a park pass. It is just up the coast from Tunk Lake in the Winter Harbor area. Bring a picnic lunch or consider stopping at one of the local restaurants in Winter Harbor for lunch or dinner.
